New mobile app helps physicians stay on track

New mobile app helps physicians stay on track:
Healthcare technology company Kareo launched an iPhone app yesterday that will make it easier for medical professionals to keep track of their appointments. The app provides mobile access to full clinic schedules, as well as patient status and visit reasons.
It is offered as a companion to the current Kareo software, which offers cloud-based practice management and medical billing tools to over 10,000 medical providers. Physicians can download the app using their Kareo username and password and instantly have access to health records and appointment times, as well as other relevant information.
“We asked our physicians to give us their top priority for a mobile app,” said Dan Rodrigues, CEO and founder of Kareo  “Hands down, their number one request was the ability to see their office’s patient appointment schedule on their iPhone.”
The app is intended to help healthcare providers stay on time and informed.
Kareo was started in 2004 by Rodrigues in an effort to simplify the medical billing process. To date, it has raised almost $20 million from OpenView Venture Partners and Greenspring Associates and has over 100 employees. It is based in Irving, Calif.
